WASHINGTON — Today, U.S. Senator Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) announced he is introducing legislation that would create a new inspector general to uncover fraud in federal programs that fund certain social services. The legislation comes after a federal prosecutor revealed half or more of the roughly $18 billion in federal funds spent on social services in Minnesota since 2018 may have been stolen.
